i had to vote for both..
the politics were that there is no money to make by protecting minorities (black/mexican/poor/etc.).. they could have protected them alot cheaper than rebuilding the entire city, but there was no money to be made in that, and they were willing to risk having thousands die..
so in a way it is both, although instead of race or racism, i would call it class or classism.. they could have been rednecks, mexicans, blacks, or any other minority and they still would have been overlooked.
with that said, i find it all completely disgusting and i think our government is about as corrupt as is possible and i in no way agree with their politics.

I don't know I can't see the other picture, If it was of black people grabbing tv sets or sterios then they were looting, if they were grabbing food then well that sucks.
However if a picture had been taken of white people grabbing tv's and the caption was "supplies" that would be really scary.
Anyway i guess the media and a bunch of authors and politics and cival rights leaders are more rich and famous now for turning an unfourtunate act of god into a race issue.
