Vatican 'to ban new gay priests'

[font=&quot]Hey I am no bigot I agree that reparations and apologies are needed regarding molestation, but heterosexual priests would be less interested in sex with the young boys.[/font]
 
they should lock the molesters up. gay preists shouldn't be a problem.

Isn't that like saying that heterosexual priests would be more interested in sex with the young girls?

Children are children no matter what sex and a pedophile can swing either way. I don't think sexual orientation even comes in to it.

 [font=&quot]I am not defending the churches decision or pedophiles and I agree they should be locked up.

But yes sexual orientation comes into it usually, both male and female pedophiles have preference in the sex they molest. Not to say it doesn’t swing both ways but when outed the victims usually turn out to be of one sex, thats the impression I get from the news and paper same with child porn colletors the pics are usualy of young girls or boys.

But perhaps the problem in the church has more to do with the vow of celibacy.[/font]

I do think the problems have much more to so then just with celibacy . . . Not to offend any Catholics but I feel the problems lie in the system itself.
