A CIA officer has been fired for allegedly leaking classified information to a Washington Post reporter about secret CIA jails in Eastern Europe, RAW STORY has learned.

The agent fired reportedly placed numerous calls to Priest around the time of the prison leak, and failed a polygraph test when confronted. Criminal charges are reportedly possible.

The White House has repeatedly called that leak a threat to national security, often comparing it unfavorably to the "positive" leaks in connection to the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

Dana Priest won a Pulitzer Prize for a Washington Post reporter which revealed the existence of secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe. The prisons are reportedly used for the interrogation of terrorism suspects.
