Your grandfather sounds like mine. He was born a few years earlier, in 1905 in fact, and lived until I was eighteen. He was almost like a father to me, and I still miss him enormously. I never heard anyone say a bad word against George Sparkes ( my Watson grandfather died before I was born). He could always see the best in people, although he had a hatred, Im afraid, for the 'Left' which made him naive about the Right.
