I seem to remember the day of 9/11 there were news stories saying that they had stopped a van that was containing explosives, trying to get onto the GW from NJ. Nothing became of the story though.

Mind you the same day people were jumpy and saying they were bombing the Brooklyn Bridge too and other places, which turned out false.
