Able Danger team members, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer and Captain Scott Phillpott have put their reputations and careers on the line to inform the public that their 18 month data-mining operation (1999-2001) had identified Mohamed Atta and three other jihadists, now alleged 9/11 hijackers, over a year before the attacks and that, though they told the 9/11 Commission staff members Philip Zelikow and Dietrich Snell respectively, the Commission did not include any mention of the program in their final report released in July of 2004. Despite the fact the Atta ID has been corroborated by four other team members and participants in the program, the former Commissioners continue to insist there is no confirming evidence and that Able Danger was not mentioned because the program was "historically insignificant." In addition LTC Shaffer attempted to inform the FBI on three separate occasions in September of 2000 only to have meetings cancelled by as yet unnamed DoD lawyers. If you believe that we deserve to know the truth about Able Danger and that whistleblowers should be ungagged by the Pentagon and allowed to testify publicly before Congressional committees please sign the Citizens' petition online and help gather additional signatures by forwarding this email.

So please insist we hear from these whistleblowers directly and publicly and join 144 Republicans, 101 Democrats, and one Independent (including senior members and leadership on both sides of the isle) by signing the petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/weldon

Demand Secretary Rumsfeld cease protecting those who covered up and killed this program and demand an end to the secrecy surrounding Operation Able Danger and its successor Stratus Ivy.

Thank you.

Kyle F. Hence
