As i said, my PROBLEM IS NOT CAPITOLISM. I am a capitolist myself - I'm a small business owner, and I hope things really take off so I'm sitting pretty. My problem is with unmitigated capatalism - the kind of capatalism where people get hurt or killed or have their basic human rights trampled in order to make someone else evern MORE wealthy. That is the kind of capatalism that is currently in the US.
Here is a for instance: The general propoganda is that all things Socialst are evil, and that capitolism is better for the economy because it creates more jobs and therefor helps everyone. However, the SINGLE reason why I don't feel that I can leave my full time job and work entirely on my own small business, is because I can't afford health care for my family. If health care was in some way socialized, then I could go out and put my efforts into growing my business, and so create jobs. From this view, the lack of socialized health care hurts capitolist pursuits, and therefor hurts the economy.
Now, I know, I know...(read with fervor) "The US healthcare system is the best in the world. When people want the best care, they come to the US". I hear this all the time. And I don't dispute it. However, I have yet to hear it from anyone who could actually AFFORD the best health care in the world. Just because the best doctors and equipment is geographically located within US border does not mean that the average person has access to it. They don't. The average person, if they even HAVE healthcare, get HMO'ed to death with overpriced and deliberatly overcomplicated billing formulas, so that by the time you are finished reading it, you don't know which end is up.
That is an example where capitolism works for the wealthy few (HMO inverstors and executives) at the outright expese of someone else.
