yeah ... and society doesn't frown on it the way they should. This may be TIM or too much personal background but I'm going to say it anyway.

when I was 17 I was involved with a 25 year old man. At 17 I had no idea how fucked up that was. It never once occurred to me to wonder what a grown man was doing with me, I wasn't emotionally ready to support the relationship or that thought process. (in his defense, I was in my second year of college at the time ... so he might have assumed me to be 19, but that is still a huge difference)

it wasn't until I was 25, and teaching 17 year olds that I realized how messed up that was. Those boys looked like babies to me and I couldn't imagine becoming involved with them in any form.

I agree, hell I can't even go out with a guy who is any younger then one year without feeling like I'm robbing the cradle.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread idea. Yes, it's depressing as hell.... but it shows how crazy and fucked up things really are.

I got a book at a discount store called "Base Instincts: What Makes Killers Kill" about two years ago. One important aspect of the serial killer/rapists' makeup is a violent, neglected childhood.
