MELBOURNE, July 25 (UPI) -- A Melbourne Islamic leader says most Muslims in Australia believe the United States authorized the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

"We believe they are willing to sometimes sacrifice their own people for the objective to control the whole world," Abu Hamza, president of the Islamic Information and Services Network, told the Melbourne Herald Sun.

Hamza, who leads 250 Muslims at a Coburg mosque, said Sheik Mohammed Omran was not alone in believing the U.S. Government was behind the 2001 attacks.

Omran, a fundamentalist leader in Brunswick, has been criticized by Prime Minister John Howard for not strongly denouncing terrorism.

Omran alleges the Bush administration orchestrated the attacks to give the U.S. licence to invade Islamic countries.

Islamic Friendship Association spokesman Keysar Trad denied most Muslims saw a U.S. conspiracy behind the 2001 attacks, but said some were deeply suspicious of involvement.

well, if the zogby poll across all of NY was accurate then the number who want a real investigation is at least in the millions..

i wonder what other ways we could approximate.. the number of signatures at justicefor911.org is waaaay too low.

If the Zogby Poll is accurate... let's say half of the human population is at least "suspicious"... so if there are 6 billion people in the world, that means 3 billion are at least "suspicious" of 9/11... give or take a billion.

Now... being "suspicious" of 9/11, and actively researching it are two different things... the people who signed that petition are probably people actively researching 9/11...

There's your statistic... how many people CARE enough to do their own research?

im pretty sure this number would be in the 2% range here in louisiana.. i think it is so high in NY because unlike most of the country they havent completely forgotten about 9/11, and have actually paid attention to the evidence and investigations..

True... but you're forgetting the polls around the world... the one in Canada, Germany, etc... Dr. Griffin mentioned them in "9/11 Report: Omissisions & Distortions..."
