As for strategy, it would seem that this particular group of people might do well to remain (steadfastly) neutral toward all candidates for political office or (for that matter) any position of power and authority.

That is to say, pointing out one candidates shortcomings does not imply a need (or reason) to endorse another candidate, especially when it appears that none of the candidates can (yet) be trusted on this, that, or the next important issue.
