Manny's reference to his late uncle "still teaching him" from beyond hits me pretty close to home. Most people likely won't and can't understand this, if they haven't walked with a "medicine man" before IMHO. Most of my moccasins never see second-hand use, too.
It is a fairly strange experience to have a Native American "medicine man" tell you your family history that your "deceased" ancestors told him, and much of the (hi)story was before you could remember, but later confirmed by family members.
