Turkish intelligence specialists agree that there is no such organization as al-Qaeda. Rather, Al-Qaeda is the name of a secret service operation. The concept ‘fighting terror’ is the background of the ‘lowintensity- warfare’ conducted in the mono-polar world order. The subject of this strategy of tension is named as ‘al-Qaeda’.

For those that don't know about "Strategy Of Tension" I suggest watching this, and reading this and this.
It's a very compelling argument. I'm sure neocons would say that we can't trust that assessment of al-Qaeda because it is based on the testimony of an al-Qaeda agent and the assessment of Turkish (read: Muslim) intelligence.

Nafezz Ahmed does some very good work. I do wonder, however, if he sometimes overstates the influence of Western intelligence. I guess I imagine things are "messier" in reality than the sort of omnipotent vision of Western intelligence portrayed by Ahmed.

But that post by Reprehensor is definitely worth a read. Thanks, Jon.
