Thread: Global warming blamed for vanishing lake

Aug - once upon a time, I said to you "take a chill pill" and you've been a hothead with a chip in your shoulder ever since. I certainly did not mean it as an insult, just to please take a step back to consider an alternate point of view. I've never attacked your character, called you uneducated, other things such as that, and yet you have implied that I have.

I am concerned about all the things that SBG mentioned above, and I don't consider myself to be narrow minded about the issues. I think the corporations are the worst polluters, and yet making a change starts with a small group of US. you, me and others. Margaret Mead said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

There is definitely a polarized USA at this time, and it's fairly easy to tell who leans left and who leans right. Frankly, I'm rather moderate and practical on most issues.

I happen to really like Al Gore, and you just happen to really hate him. That's it in a nutshell. I have personally met the man and his wife, and worked diligently on his campaign. And I was particularly impressed with the movie that he made in which he won as Oscar. I once suggested to you that you formed an opinion of him based on biased and sometimes LYING press, i.e. Fox and Drudge. They made up some really crap stories about Gore, and it was proven that the stories were false, but few of the LIARS were ever called out about it. But that's okay. I don't think you'll open up to a new impression of Mr. Gore, however I still have a right to post on this board and extol his virtues. It's also quite amusing that you said that I believe Gore is the second coming of christ.... pretty funny, considering I'm Jewish

I've never weighed in on the "carbon tax" issue, and I certainly agree that there are other pressing issues along with global warming. If a person chooses to ignore all the news about global warming, then how on earth will he know when the truth comes along. The science is out there - you just have to open your mind, be willing to listen to both sides, consider the sources and make an "informed" thought or idea. As the great and wise Jon Gold says "No One Knows Everything. Only Together May We Find The Truth"

All I did was post an AP story that came out yesterday, regarding a claim of global warming by a scientist of that region, and then .... the attack dogs started snarling.

Here .... have a tasty dog biscuit, it tastes similar to a chill pill

    Peace
    Chana

To this I reply bull- fucking -shit. What you did was tell me I was sounding stupid, and to get on board with your way of thinking. THIS I consider open debate with an intelligent individual:

You are referring to natural cycles that occur over hundreds of thousands of years.

Climate changes of the past, unlike today, have been initiated by variations in the Earth's orbit and other minor atmospheric shifts. Such variations have triggered CO2 feedback mechanisms in the oceans, causing prolonged warming and cooling periods. The scientific community, including the IPCC, has fully taken into account these natural cycles, and ruled them out as a cause of the warming trend we are currently experiencing.

Natural cycles do not explain the sudden and rapid correlating increases in CO2 and temperature we see today, because, as many climate skeptics are quick to point out, it takes hundreds of years for natural warming cycles to trigger ocean degassing. Furthermore, it has been scientifically proven, using isotopic analysis, that the CO2 presently being emitted into the atmosphere is not from the ocean, but is rather due to the burning of fossil fuels and other human activities.

THIS I consider a personal slur:

Maybe a few starlets and celebrities will help the common man become aware of a daunting problem that must be addresses. Surely You don't have a problem with that, do you??

You are blaming the wrong dog and making a total idiot of yourself. Do some research dude, and come back and contribute something intelligent ... aye??

See how because I didn't subscibe to your point of view that is what you threw at me? And you're right, I have shit on you at every oppertunity ever since. WHen you apologize, we can perhaps begin anew. I will never like a man that makes quotes like THIS:
A spotted Zebra. "A zebra does not change its spots." - Al Gore, attacking President George Bush in 1992.
(Sources: The Toronto Sun, 11/19/95; May 13th page of the "365 stupidest things ever said, 1999 Calendar." ALL quotes from this calendar are from a book called "The 700 Stupidest Things Ever Said") The book and calendar are by a brother and sister team called Ross and Kathryn Petras. The original book "The 776 Stupidest things ever said" was printed in March 1993, and the calendar was printed August 1998.)

You'll note I posted the source, which is NOT Fox OR Drudge.
Additionally, this does not make me a Bush supporter, as I'd cheer his lynching.
I saw you looking at the thread about the best book of the NWO. I'm sure you saw some of the awsome quotes I posted there by some people worthy of praise.
As I rule, in the 1+ year I have posted here I have had brushes with about half a dozen people. Most of them are now my friends, even though I do not agree with their politics. I don't NEED to, as long as we show each other respect. You were willing to cross that line for your support of a moron.

I didn't call you an idiot. I said you were making an idiot of yourself, that is different.

Either way, I'm sorry. I forgot I had said that, and it is not in my nature to insult people (except for Bush).

    I still like Al Gore

Grudgingly accepted. And I still hate Al Gore. But we can agree to disagree.

Yeah, I know. And they are gonna use our tax dollars to do it. Just like they are gonna use the Carbon Tax to implement the North American Union, it is stated in their documents, along with the phrase "Evolution by Stealth".

BTW MrDark, I believe the government has the best seeds , but they aren't sharing .
