Around 6 months ago, I decided, for no reason, to re-watch Donna Marsh O'Connor's speech in front of the United Nations on 9/11/2005. The first time I saw that speech, I was awestruck. I couldn't believe where the words were coming from. This was a 9/11 family member, holding up a picture of her lost daughter, standing in front of the United Nations, charging that Vice President Dick Cheney may have been responsible for 9/11.
I sent her an email at the time thanking her for her words. She responded, and that was the last time we corresponded for a long period of time.
Most members of this movement were just as taken back by Donna's speech as I was. You may be surprised to know that Donna received a lot of flack for that speech from people in her neighborhood.
After re-watching her video, I decided that, "I very much want to be this person's friend." So, I sent her an email explaining just that. I wanted to get to know her, and become friends. Being the warm, and friendly person that she is, I am happy to say that today, we are friends.
Since her speech on the Fourth Anniversary, she has written several articles.
She was kind enough to take part in a "Q&A Session" with me.
On 9/6/2006, Donna stood with first responder David Miller and others to speak at St. Mark's Church in New York City. (If I'm wrong about the venue, please let me know)
On the Fifth Anniversary, at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., she demanded, along with fellow 9/11 Family Members Christina Kminek, and Michelle Little, "a new investigation into the events of September 11th, and this time, a truly bipartisan, global, with families invested from the beginning, middle, and throughout the end."
One night, I was emailing with Kevin Barrett, and I forget how she came up, but by the time we were done, I was getting Donna in touch Kevin to be a guest on one of his two shows.
This is one of the best shows I've ever heard, and I want to give a BIG THANKS to "solar roller" for getting us this audio, as well as to "dz" for getting her original speech on the Fourth Anniversary, and to Kevin for having her on, and finally to Donna Marsh O'Connor. It is truly a pleasure knowing you.
Enjoy...
