Famed Watergate reporter Bob Woodward is out with a new book, State of Denial. While it focuses on the lies of Bush and Rumsfeld regarding Iraq, it reveals that Condaleeza Rice was warned on July 10, 2001 by George Tenet and his counter-terrism expert, Cofer Black, that a serious attack was imminent.

In essence, Woodward shows that Condi blocked this key warning with what Tenet called "a brush-off". This is gross dereliction of duty and malfeasance, which are seriously punishable crimes. She then perjured herself in front of the 9/11 Commission, as is seen in the Mitchell article excerpt below, when she said the Aug. 6th Presidential Daily Briefing wasn't specific, was past tense, and only mentioned threats from abroad! After these criminal acts, SHE GOT PROMOTED TO SECRETARY OF STATE! What does this say? It incriminates the whole administration.

So here are some sources:

Book Says Bush Ignored Urgent Warning on Iraq

The 537-page book describes tensions among senior officials from the very beginning of the administration. Mr. Woodward writes that in the weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks, Mr. Tenet believed that Mr. Rumsfeld was impeding the effort to develop a coherent strategy to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. Mr. Rumsfeld questioned the electronic signals from terrorism suspects that the National Security Agency had been intercepting, wondering whether they might be part of an elaborate deception plan by Al Qaeda.

On July 10, 2001, the book says, Mr. Tenet and his counterterrorism chief, J. Cofer Black, met with Ms. Rice at the White House to impress upon her the seriousness of the intelligence the agency was collecting about an impending attack. But both men came away from the meeting feeling that Ms. Rice had not taken the warnings seriously.

Chance at Osama pre 9/11, sez book

The CIA'S top counterterrorism officials felt they could have killed Osama Bin Laden in the months before 9/11, but got the "brushoff" when they went to the Bush White House seeking the money and authorization.

CIA Director George Tenet and his counter-terrorism head Cofer Black sought an urgent meeting with then-national security adviser Condoleezza Rice on July 10, 2001, writes Bob Woodward in his new book "State of Denial."

They went over top-secret intelligence pointing to an impending attack and "sounded the loudest warning" to the White House of a likely attack on the U.S. by Bin Laden. Woodward writes that Rice was polite, but, "They felt the brushoff." Tenet and Black were both frustrated.

Black later calculated that all he needed was $500 million of covert action funds and reasonable authorization from President Bush to go kill Bin Laden and "he might be able to bring Bin Laden's head back in a box," Woodward writes. Black claims the CIA had about "100 sources and subsources" in Afghanistan who could have helped carry out the hit.

Woodward claims the intelligence Tenet and Black shared with Rice included communication intercepts indicating the likelihood of an Al Qaeda attack on U.S. soil. Tenet said he had hoped the meeting would shock Rice into encouraging the President to take immediate action against Al Qaeda.

Black, looking back at the July 10, 2001, meeting with Rice, concludes, "The only thing we didn't do was pull the trigger to the gun we were holding to her [Rice's] head." Woodward says that Tenet described the meeting as a "tremendous lost opportunity to prevent or disrupt the 9/11 attacks."

Tenet also claims that his alarm over Bin Laden was downplayed by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who asked, "Could all this be a grand deception?"

Now combine this information with the following facts.

In the spring of 2001 John Ashcroft was told by FBI Director Louis Freeh of the growing threat of terrorism. According to Freeh, "he didn't want to hear about it". Ashcroft was warned of a threat assessment 16 days after the July 10th meeting between Tenet and Rice and then would only fly on private chartered aircraft.

James Ridgeway wrote in the Village Voice on March 21st, 2006:

From the onset of his tenure, Attorney General John Ashcroft had at first received, but later rejected briefings on the Al Qaeda threat. Ashcroft killed an August 2001 plea for an additional $58 million to combat Al Qaeda. In May that year, Ashcroft put out a memo outlining strategic goals of the Justice Department. It made no mention of counterterrorism. Subsequently, in testimony before the 9-11 Commission, Ashcroft blamed the Clinton administration for terrorism failures and said he thought any attack would come from abroad.

Former Acting FBI Director Thomas Pickard stated in a staff report and in public testimony that Ashcroft told him in the summer of 2001 that “he did not want to hear” additional information about possible attacks.

On Sept. 10th Ashcroft sent a budget proposal to the White House for 68 different programs. Counter-terrorism wasn't included. In a memo sent to heads of departments stating seven priorities, again counter-terrorism wasn't included. At no time did he take action to avert the growing threat. Instead, it's clear he did the opposite.

Donald Rumsfeld was also told of the threat by Tenet within a week of the July 10th meeting with Rice.

The Aug. 6th Presidential Briefing entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Within the U.S." was delivered to George W. Bush at his Crawford, TX ranch by a CIA briefer. In the recent book by Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Ron Suskind called "The One Percent Doctrine", Bush's response to the CIA briefer was, "All right ... You've covered your ass, now." So much for being strong on terror, folks.

In yet another blatant piece of evidence shattering the credibility of the 9/11 Commission, on January 8th, 2004 former CIA George Tenet had told the Commission of his July 10th meeting with Rice. However, they inexplicably neglected to include this revelation in their report.

Conclusion: Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Ashcroft were duly warned in the months prior to 9/11 of an impending attack and did nothing. The people of the world must clearly understand the implications of this high level chain-of-command malfeasance, note the pattern of suspicious behavior, consider that there was an obvious and highly orchestrated cover-up, analyze how the attacks enabled the military/industrial/petroleum complex and the neocon agenda to implement their agenda of global and domestic aggression. The plans to invade Afghanisan and and Iraq were in place and the PATRIOT Act was already written. The evidence of just this area of 9/11 analysis is sufficiently incriminating to warrant outrage and action by all who clamor for a government bound by the highest standards of justice and accountability. As usual, mainstream media and Congress won't take the necessary action. Let's seize the opportunity to create an everwhelming demand for truth-based responsible leadership. Silence is not an option.
