Anti-Bush protesters gather in downtown Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - A group of protesters gathered in downtown Portland Thursday afternoon,^blocking traffic and forcing police to keep a watch on their activities.

The protesters were centered around the area of Southwest 12th and Jefferson.^ They refused to move, despite the fact that police moved in with riot gear.^ A few arrests were made, but by 3:30 p.m., the crowd dispersed and some of the police officers began to leave the scene.

The protest was organized by a group called "World Can't Wait." They were gathering for what they called a protest against the actions of the Bush administration.
