Sandy Berger Pleads Guilty For Stealing 9/11 Documents

    NEW YORK POST -- April 2, 2005

WASHINGTON — A contrite former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger pleaded guilty yesterday to pilfering classified documents from the National Archives, saying he showed "very poor judgment" and that his actions were "wrong."

Berger, former President Bill Clinton's top national security aide, appeared poker-faced during a court hearing as his lawyers and federal prosecutors presented a plea deal before federal Magistrate Deborah Robinson surrounding his removal of documents about the fight against
    al Qaeda.

Berger was preparing for upcoming testimony before the 9/11 commission. The deal reached between his lawyers and the Justice Department called for Berger to plead guilty to one count of unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents and to pay a $10,000 fine and lose his security clearance for three years.

    [...]

Berger also admitted he took the documents to his office and cut up three copies with scissors despite knowing, as a former government official who once had access to the nation's most closely guarded secrets, that they were classified.

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/43704.htm No doubt he's guilty for a lot more than stealing documents. I'm currently reading an uncorrected page proof of a new book soon to be published by Interlinkbooks written by Nafeez Ahmed, the author of The War on Freedom. See link in left hand column resources section for more info. The book documents Bush, Clinton and Bush II administration cozying up to Al-Qeada in order to advance hidden agendas and strategic interests. Strong and credible evidence presented in Ahmed's next book suggests that OBL and Al-Qeada were assets, unwitting or not, of U.S. intelligence agencies and Western interests in general. Don't miss Nafeez's next book: The War on Truth: 9/11, Disinformation and the Anatomy of Terror. It's a bit dry but very well documented.
