MLK 'Truth, Peace & Justice' rally
Sunday will focus on Bush impeachment,
third Party campaign in Palo Alto for Congress

PALO ALTO - The impeachment of Pres. George Bush will be among other "Truth, Peace and Justice" topics discussed here at a Martin Luther King Jr. rally and celebration Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lytton Plaza, in Downtown Palo Alto (University & Emerson).

The day also marks the anniversary of a March in 2002, organized by 9/11 activist Carol Brouillet, to demand a Congressional investigation of 9-11, and a 2003 March to demand an end to the 9-11 Cover-Up, repeal of the PATRIOT Act, and the pre-emptive impeachment of the current administration.

Brouillet, who will be joined by other Green Party candidates, will announce she is forming an exploratory committee to run for Congress in the 14th District (Palo Alto).

“Like Martin Luther King, Jr., I have a dream, too. A dream of a world, without war, a dream of a world where resources are not squandered on weapons, a dream of a world where wealth is measured by the health and well being of our relationships, our children, our community, our planet," said Brouillet.

“Truth is the first casualty of war. Lies are used to sell unjustifiable wars. The PATRIOT Act was anything, but patriotic, and an attack upon the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, dissent. We need a national dialogue on Impeachment, and the responsibility of the American people and Congress to rein in a criminal regime," she added.

“I believe that 'Impeachment,' Repeal of the PATRIOT Act, are our best hope for the country, the world. Apathy, Disengagement, Fear and Cynicism are the forces which perpetuate a war economy. Engagement, Empowerment, Hope, Courage, Truth can transform it to serving human needs. As citizens, our greatest duty, to ourselves, to our families, to the world, is to rein in our own government, to hold it accountable for its actions. Regime Change should begin at home."

Activists from all over the Bay Area are expected to attend, including several candidates for statewide office on the November 2006 ballot. There will be a wide variety of speakers, light snacks, and music provided by Annie and the Vets.

Like Martin Luther King, Jr., I have a dream. A dream of a world, without war, a dream of a world where resources are not squandered on weapons, a dream of a world where wealth is measured by the health and well being of our relationships, our children, our community, our planet.

Truth is the first casualty of war. The official 9-11 story is a lie. Lies are used to sell unjustifiable wars. The PATRIOT Act was anything, but patriotic, and an attack upon the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, dissent. Congress was terrorized and pressured into passing it quickly.

Congresswoman Eshoo, has supported the lie, and co-sponsored the Intelligence Transformation Act. The expansion of the Intelligence Agencies is the foundation for a global police state.

National Security/Homeland Security/ FEMA provide a false security based on sophisticated weapons, surveillance devices, and control over communications systems. This militarization threatens the Real Security of most people- their health, well being, civil rights. Real Security means water, food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and healthy relationships between people, and between people and planet.

The “War on Terrorism” is a bogus war, a war of terrorism against all people, a war on truth, a war on freedom.

We need a national dialogue on Impeachment, and the responsibility of the American people and Congress to rein in a criminal regime.

Impeachment, Repeal of the PATRIOT Act, peace, are our best hope for the country, the world. Apathy, Disengagement, Fear and Cynicism are the forces which perpetuate a war economy. Engagement, Empowerment, Hope, Courage, Truth, Humor, Compassion can transform it to serve life.

We cannot continue to control, dominate, harvest, and trash resources, the planet, regardless of the future; if we wish to survive. Ecological Wisdom means learning to live cooperatively with all people, and all species. Each one of us has tremendous power. In a world of terrible inequities, in a world of intricate interdependencies, we bear much responsibility. The world is in our hands.

As citizens, our greatest duty, to ourselves, to our families, to the world, is to rein in our own government, to hold it accountable for its actions. Regime Change should begin at home. We owe it to those who walked before us, who have given their lives for peace, justice and truth. We have a responsibility to oppose tyranny in all of its forms. While the task may seem daunting, there is a communications revolution underway, we have enormous opportunities to challenge the lies and nurture hope. Philip Zelikow will speak at Kresge Auditorium, today, from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. We plan to protest the Sept. 11 cover-up and to raise questions about his role as executive director of the 9-11 Commission and the Commission’s report.

Zelikow, a national security adviser to both Bush administrations and a principal author of the official 9-11 Commission Report, was part of Bush’s transition team for the National Security Council after the 2000 election. He was appointed to the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board a month after the Sept. 11 2001 attacks.

The Family Steering Committee called for his resignation because of his obvious conflicts of interests.

While Sept. 11 has been used to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, shred the Constitution and Bill of Rights, construct a global police state, enrich weapons manufacturers and seize oil assets, there have been no convictions in any courts of law supporting the government conspiracy theory, particularly the Saddam Hussein / Al Qaeda link.

The 9-11 Commission failed to mention or address the multiple war games / exercises that were being conducted that day, out of the White House. As many as five war game drills were in process, some involving hijacked airliners, a plane crashing into a building, some involving false blips deliberately inserted onto FAA and military radar screens.

One exercise pulled significant fighter resources away from the Northeastern United States on Sept. 11.

These exercises involved North American Air Defense Command, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Canadian Air Force, the CIA and the National Reconnaissance Office.

Coincidentally, in New York City, massive preparations were underway for a biochemical attack drill involving FEMA, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Justice, Weill Medical College, the N.Y. Deptartment of Health, the N.Y. Fire Department, the N.Y. Police Department, the American Red Cross and the Port Authority.

The Secret Service and Cheney’s overseeing role during the events of Sept. 11 were overlooked. This was documented in Michael Ruppert’s new book “Crossing the Rubicon – The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil.”

The Commissioners and Zelikow had deep conflicts of interest and many reasons to cover up the truth about Sept. 11.

They are now engaged in a public relations effort to sell the official narrative and the war on terrorism. Both the official inquiry and the Commission’s parameters were to support the official story and justify the creation of Homeland Security Department.

Homeland Security in German is “geheimstadt politza,” which during World War II was abbreviated to Gestapo. Do Americans really believe a “Gestapo” will make us safer?

The Stanford Institute for International Studies is sponsoring Zelikow’s talk, but the Department of Homeland Security has awarded a 15-month $1.65-million contract to CISAC and the Stanford Institute for International Studies to conduct research on how national and local agencies improve the design and evaluation of future terrorist exercises of national and local response systems.

The DHS research contract resulted from CISAC’s observation of last year’s spring State Department-DHS-sponsored, full-scale exercise called TOPOFF2, designed to prepare national, state and local officials to respond to potential terrorist attacks within the United States.

The United States has a long history of training terrorists and launching covert operations throughout the world.

Terrorism allows states to declare emergencies, label all opposition as terrorists and reduce civil rights.
