youth?
I read more and more about violence in our youth ... and in every instance you can *see* that while they understand their actions, and understand they are wrong - they don't have any concept of the actual effects or long term repercussions of their actions. I find this to be particularly evident in school shootings ... but even "little" incindents like this one scare me:

I believe we as a society have a responsibility to educate our youth and prepare them to help create a better society ... instill in them a sense of communal morals if you will ...
but when I read about children like the one above, or parents like these:

I wonder how much society in general can do?

http://comic-books-world.com/marvel.jpg Comic books were once, and perhaps still is, the bane of society...but if you read the bible or mythology you'll see that the youth were always fucking up:eek:
Si vis pacem, para bellum--if you want peace, prepare for war--and one day you may all be saying Thank god for George Bush!!!
When you face the prospect of going to a never-ending war with little chance of coming back, you tend to be a bit more peaceful.

yes, humanities youth is constantly chronicled as "fucking up" (as you so eloquently put it) ... and every generation says the kids of today are worse than ever before. I must admit I truely doubt that is true ...
however, now the chronicles show the parents as being completely horrible as well
one can only hope that *something* positive can come from GWB ... and I will happily accept society's backlash as the positive.
