Anyone else notice how the 9/21 memo has disappeared from the "spotlight"?

Along with the Downing Street Memo, the Torture Memo, etc...

Christ... if you look at ANY of the MSM sites, you won't see mention of either.

Well I don't know how the TV News is covering (or not covering) the Al Jazeera memo, but a look through Google News shows only six mainstream US reports of the memo.

They are, KTRE 9 (http://www.ktre.com/Global/story.asp?S=4165373&nav=2FH5) (an ABC affiliate - which is just a very short AP report), ABC (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=1345902)itself (A Reuters wire report), the Boston Globe (http://www.boston.com/news/world/middleeast/articles/2005/11/25/jazeera_seeks_answers_on_bomb_report/) (Reuters wire report), WTNH (http://www.wtnh.com/Global/story.asp?S=4165223&nav=3YeX) (another ABC affiliate, and AP another wire report), Herald News Daily (http://www.heraldnewsdaily.com/stories/news-00104307.html) (Dakota - another wire report), and the an op-ed in the New York Sun (http://www.nysun.com/article/23536) which basically argues that 'hey, bombing these Islamists is not a bad idea'.

I don't doubt that the all the other memo's have gone down the memory hole, but I think its probably just par for the course really.

Yeah... but for one who "monitors" the news... you quickly start to see "trends"...

You can almost gauge the direction of the administration by watching what the media has to say.

For instance... now would be a good time for a "terror threat".

I agree. The corporate media is drivel. The only one showing any interest seems to be ABC (and MSNBC - see below). But I'm pretty sure these reports aren't making it onto the TV.

I just found another one, on MSNBC (http://news.google.ie/url?sa=t&ct=/23-0&fp=43899f50577de65a&ei=be2JQ5DgKY-a6wGnvqjpDA&url=http%3A//msnbc.msn.com/id/10197204/&cid=0) (yet another AP wire report)

And CNN International has a report too (http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/11/24/jazeera.protest/).

Oh... they post the news occasionally... but posting the news, and promoting the news are two completely different things...

Imagine MSNBC having two stories on their page... one titled, "Bush Lied Us Into War", and one titled, "Big Bird Used Kermit As A Sex Toy".

The "Bush Lied Us Into War" story would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay at the bottom of the page, and the "Big Bird Used Kermit As A Sex Toy" story would be BLASTED on the front page...

Which story would you, as a reader, focus on? Remember?

"Big Bird Used Kermit As A Sex Toy"

The Children's Television Workshop corrupting our children! That's way more important than thousands and thousands of people dead for a lie!!! The children are our future remember! Though maybe it would explain away the 'bad egg' acts at Abu Ghraib - yes, its all public TV's fault! Nothing to do with Dick or Donald.

Exactly.
