Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani stepped off the campaign trail Thursday morning to give thanks to the heroes of September 11th.
Giuliani and his wife Judith held a holiday breakfast for survivors of the World Trade Center attacks and wounded war veterans at the ESPN Zone restaurant in Times Square.
"All their children can get to enjoy the parade, and we can get to see families that we got to know in a very difficult time,” said Giuliani. “And we remember our tremendous losses and honor those lives and their great service to this country, and we also give thanks for the wonderful way all these men and women protect freedom and democracy for us."
Giuliani has more to be thankful for, as he leads the Republican presidential hopefuls in most national polls. But he is getting the backing of only 13 percent of those polled in Iowa.
