Construction crews work at ground zero Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006 in New York City. Construction began on the footings for the World Trade Center Memorial and Museum, scheduled to be complete by September 2009. In the five years since terrorists rammed hijacked jets into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Americans have accepted inconvenience, sacrificed personal freedoms and spent billions of dollars on a security clampdown that touches virtually every aspect of their lives.

Most people would like to think the horrific events of Sept. 11, believed to be the largest terrorist attack in history, would not come from the hands of their own government, but they should think again.

Michael Berger, director of "Improbable Collapse, The Demolition of our Republic," has created a polished documentary analyzing the collapse of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers with unrelenting arguments negating the government's official reports on the Sept. 11 events.

Unlike other similar documentaries, "Improbable Collapse" comes at the issue with pure science and hard facts. Much of the main points behind Berger's arguments are backed by sufficient scientific evidence.

The documentary's legitimacy is mostly due to the research by Steven E. Jones, professor of physics at Brigham Young University.

"There are some very important questions here that are unanswered," said Jones about the attack.

Jones emphasized the fact that there has never been an instance of any building collapsing due to fire before the WTC buildings in 2001.

"The structure was always left behind, even after sufficient damage had occurred," said Jones.

Jones focused on the steel structure of the WTC buildings and came to the conclusion that it was scientifically impossible for the columns to have melted, creating a pancake affect (which the U.S. government said was the case) that eventually ended with the buildings collapsing directly on their footprint and barely damaging anything around them.

This is when the documentary starts pointing fingers at top officials in the White House.

The collapse of the buildings looked suspiciously similar to how controlled demolitions would be performed and this was something in which Berger and Jones were very interested.

When performing a controlled demolition a building must be loaded with explosives in key parts of the frame.

The explosives must then be ignited, causing the building to collapse, significantly limiting the damage to surrounding structures with its direct downward free-fall.

According to the WTC Construction Manager, the buildings were over-designed to withstand almost anything, including hurricanes, high winds, bombings and an airplane hitting them.

New York City firefighters were also quoted stating their thoughts about the attacks and who was behind them.

"I know Sept. 11 was an inside job," said one New York City firefighter in the documentary.

Others described hearing up to 10 explosions coming from inside the building, leaving even some doubters of a conspiracy quite skeptical.

There were three investigative reports done by the U.S. government including the 9/11 Commission report, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report and the FEMA BPAT report.

All three of the reports concluded that, with the information and time available, the events leading to the collapse of the WTC buildings could not be fully and accurately determined.

The documentary then asked why the government would throw volunteer engineers with no money and no authority into an investigation of such a cataclysmic event that occurred on their own country's soil.

According to Berger, this lack of interest was "evidence of the absence and failure of democracy in this country and its government."

The documentary focused a lot on WTC building seven because of its lack of explanation from the government and the media's knack for blatantly ignoring it as much as possible.

This is just one reason why Berger and others strongly believe the government is hiding something from its people.

"Why would media networks and our own government act guilty? It's very strange," said Berger.

Berger also spoke about the increase in people standing up and taking action against the alleged lies and manipulation from their government.

"If we did organize, they (the U.S. government) would probably be the scared ones," said Berger.

Berger believes that with the ability to hold a citizen's grand jury and get a federal prosecutor to go to trial with the evidence, "it would allow us to take back our government."

"Improbable Collapse" is a deeply thought out documentary attempting to lift the sheet from the eyes of every American and uncover the truth about one of the most devastating events in history.

Its honest effort deserves to be heard and fairly questioned by everyone.

A fantastic example of non speculative science painting an extremely unflattering picture of the 'Official Story'. It's nice to see documentary after documentary on the subject for the mere reason of exposure, but when presented in such a manner as this it really gives me hope for the future ...maybe our parents could ignore JFK's murder...maybe someday we won't ignore this.
