This is from an event where the discussion was about the Iraq Occupation. It was sponsored by Montco Democracy for America (www.dfalink.com/montcodfa).

Former Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter and ex CIA Analyst Ray McGovern were the speakers of the event. Both had compelling things to say. Scott Ritter is obviously passionate about what he believes, and I believe him to be a good man. I think he's wrong to say there's no "hard facts" regarding 9/11. When he said that, I wanted to say, "Have you looked into it?" However, I kept my cool.

Mr. McGovern is always a pleasure to see. This encounter was reminiscent of our first meeting. We were at the 9/11 People's Commission in Washington D.C. on 9/11/2004. At that meeting, I was fortunate enough to get the first question. Today was no different. I made sure I was first in line. :) Our first meeting in D.C. took place at a church. Today's meeting did as well.

When I asked my question, there was complete silence in the room. I met someone in the potty who thanked me for asking the question, and he said the person he was with said, "Did someone just insinuate that the Government was responsible for 9/11?" The responses I received, especially from Scott Ritter, weren't exactly what I was hoping for. However, I think, or at least I hope, it made an impact on some people in the room.

The highlight of the event, for me, was when the coordinator of the event came to speak with me. He shook my hand, and said, "Thank you for your question."

Not a bad day.

I passed out 10 DVDs while the MC was asking his opening question (before you Jon).

I also informed that 911 meeting that was held afterwards of pa911visibility and the plans for the 9/9 meeting.

I also tried to put the hologram-hugger in his place. He attempted many times to be sly with me and set me up with a question, but when he saw that I was loaded with a full clip of facts, he backed down.

All in all in I enjoyed the day. Nice seeing you there.

typically about 2 hours, sometimes I've seen it take longer (like when I posted the first Steven Jones presentation from 2/1/06 or whenever it was)

I liked Ritter's passion and McGovern's soft wisdom. It was a good combination. I can't say I learned a whole lot, as I'm sure most were already the choir.

One thing that bothered me was the self-promotion of the "question askers" and most asked questions that neither could really answer (like 'what do we do and how do we do it').

Also the "democrats are good, Bush and republicans are bad" mindset turned me off a bit.

Other than that, I enjoyed it. I particularly liked McGovern's Germany story "I am guilty".

Ya. It wasn't bad. I filmed the whole thing so I might put it up eventually. The Hologram guy freaked me out.

lol yeah he was a hard pill to swallow at first, but I once I tranquilized him with fact-based discussion, it was tolerable.

When I left he told me I should run for President. I told him in 2020 when I am eligible, I'll think about it.

You should post the video fully on google video or at the least, 911podcasts. I can then download it and post it to google video and youtube.

The Hologram Guy was exactly as I pictured a Hologram Guy. Now that I think about it, he was most likely paid to be there to distribute crap.

Didn't the Hologram Guy look like a "Conspiracy Theorist" is supposed to?

For some reason, I found their pussyfooting quite depressing. Generally, my expectations for public figures are very low -- in this case, I expected more.

Well... we got a quote from Ray... "The 9/11 Report is a joke". That's something... Anyway, it was more that the question was asked. You can't believe how many people came up to me, and thanked me for the queston...

I actually liked their answers...tho I definately like Ray Mcgovern's answer. I think we all k now where Mcgovern stands on 9/11, but of course he can't come out and say it. Ritter seemed open to all possibilities. These seem like very likeable guys, who arent afraid to say their are many unanswered questions.
It's so hard to get people on the left to say there's even a coverup.

Anyways, thanks for the footage Jon...I bet there was more than a few people in the audience going "hmmmm"

"I congratulate, and I applaud all of those very serious people who are looking into this issue, and trying to get answers to these questions. Never will I call them "Conspiracy Theorists". I was young enough, and naive enough to believe the Warren Commission. I know better now."

I actually think that Scott Ritter's answer was quite powerful for the particular audience he was addressing. Most in the audience were just normal folk (ie; not 9/11 related), so I think it would have been pretty powerful for them to hear someone that they respect enough to come see talk, that he was 'open' to the idea that the government was complicit.

I actually heard some murmerings when you aske the question, but the answers of both men were relativly long and thoughtful. They certainly didn't make you out to be a freak.

So what would the audience take with them when they left in regars to 9/11? The fact that two well-place people whom they respect either think the 9/11 commision was a joke or were open to the idea of government complicity.

I think thats pretty damn good for a day's work! Good for you Jon, and good for not listening to me regarding the question.

PS: I don't think you credited the amazing and versatile camera work for that segment, did you?

No, I don't think I did... Sorry Uber Commandante... I forgot because I was focusing on the shakiness of the shot...
