Caracas, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ali Rodriguez assured that Washington´s threats result in strengthened ties with Cuba, warning that an armed attack against his country would "mean the beginning of the end of the empire."

Rodriguez told Prensa Latina those allusions to Venezuela in a recent report by the US State Department are threats that "make nothing else than reinforcing relations between both countries."

That report and its secret annex in particular "put us on the same side, and that means we should boost our relations," the official stated, noting it does not only apply to Venezuela y Cuba, but also to the rest of their friends.

A military aggression against Venezuela will not be that easy, as it would represent "a high cost for the empire," the minister assured, but "others will surely put up the dead," he went on.

"Attacking Venezuela would probably have an effect on the US territory itself and the Latin American continent. The conflict would not limit to the Venezuelan borders, and they know that," Rodriguez sustained.

An armed aggression against the South American country "could mark or speed up the beginning of the end of that big empire, and they must be very careful and think it over and over before trying it," he emphasized.
